Playing perfectly cool on a Perfect World

I am not going to give a lengthy review (or am I?) on this very addicting MMORPG game. I began playing Perfect World in September of last year (2007) and played 20 hours a day until I discovered another addicting internet activity - blogging. Instead, I will just give a brief introduction about this game, just in case some of you haven’t heard of it yet. At the last section of this post, you can check out some screen shots and a Perfect World video from Levelup.

Perfect World is a full-feature 3D online game that is based on rich Chinese mythology and set in the world of Pangu, with entire generations of gods that paved the way for the creation of great civilizations. Anchored on groundbreaking creative elements and features that catapult it into the next level of 3D online gaming, Perfect World bestows players with the power to create their own legend and, ultimately, their own Perfect World. This MMORPG game is introduced in the Philippines last year by Levelup Games, a leading online games publisher in the country, who brought in Ragnarok, OZWorld, RF Online, FreeStyle and many other great online games.

Perfect World Races

PW have 3 races that a player can choose to develop. Each race have unique abilities that are also developed as each character levels-up. Below is a simple table of the PW races.

Perfect World Crafting

PW players can suit up their characters with various weapons and armors - either by buying on Shops with ‘yuan’, the PW currency, or acquire even more powerful weapons and armors by ‘crafting’ them. Special additional attributes of each weapon and armor can be achieved by making it yourself, rather than buy it on Shops with its stock attributes. With fusion using different gems and stones, weapons and armors can glow, or earn more advanced attributes.

Battle System

PW is basically about killing Monsters, demons and evils that are lurking the Perfect Land. Each level can be achieved by following a Quest. Players can also engage in Skills and Weapons showdown, through ‘Duels’, so expect a lot of other players requesting for duels. It also features Territorial Battles, where, a Clan can claim certain PW territories by winning a battle with other clans.

Quests and Cooperative Play

PW boasts of more than 5000 quests that players can discover along with the development of their characters. Some of the quests can be achieved alone, while some can be easily achieved with a group of other PW players. PW players can organize a team, or ‘Party’ during difficult quests. PW players can also establish CLANS and can recruit as many members on the clan.

Mounts

Except for WingKinds, other PW characters do not have the ability to fly. However, upon reaching Level 30, a player can take on Flying Quests and gets rewarded with Flying items or pets that they can mount on. Also, upon reaching Level 40, a player can buy additional mounts (horse, leopards, faster flying items/pets) in the Item Mall in exchange for some Gold Credits. PW is free, however, you may need to buy credits in exchange for Gold, or you can Trade any item for Gold.

Communications and Relationships

PW is also equipped with chatting system - Global, Group on Quests, Clan or privately between players. It also provides some form of ‘intimate’ relationship, where two players (sorry, only relationships between male and female are allowed - LOL) can engage in some intimate activities - limited only to kissing, ride on mounts together or carrying your lady-love. Each intimacy gets rewarded with increase in ‘Chi’ which can be used to boost special abilities and skills during combat.

Overall

This game as I mentioned, is addictive. However, if one is not so much for a long story, quest-filled MMORPG, then maybe this one is boring. But when you’re in for some nice graphics, nice storyline, and meet lots of other players while playing, plus, it’s FREE to play, then this one is worth the look.

Head over to Levelup and get the game (oh, its one hell of a download, so huge a file - about 2.7GB!, but its worth the effort).

I have a FaShi and a YuMang and I guess I chose tiger as my server. Most of my Tantra friends moved on to PW so I followed them for a little while.

If you know someone called AngelEyez, tell her I said hello. I used to take her from Wing City to Sword City hehehe. I miss my online friends.

I was on addict mode for a year with Tantra Online even leveled up my char to the max. I spent almost 30k with that game heheh. I got hacked but I don’t care anymore. Blogging is my passion now.
