I always wanted to be a Postie

Finally, I am a certified Postie. For three months in existence here in blogosphere, I have been waiting for the day I become a postie. 6 in every 10 bloggers that I met are posties, at least in this community of blogging where I am lurking. They became my friends, my inspiration. They have given me so much excitement about being a postie that everyday since I signed up, I have been looking forward to see a confirmation email in my inbox.

What benefits does it give me being a postie? A lot! In this “make money online” arena that I have been part of for more than 12 weeks now, making real money online is part of the rewards available for each and every blogger.

Will it reduce my blogging posts to plain crap? No! In fact, as I stated in one of my previous posts about making money on blogs, getting sponsored posts from advertisers would in fact help me hone my skills in writing, and blogging in general.

Should I be penalized for doing the things I love and get paid to blog? I shouldn’t be. There’s no sweeter things than earning bucks for doing the things you love to do. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Oprah, Simon Cowell and lots of other people are earning big bucks from doing the things they love to do.

But no matter how other people see it, a Postie is a responsible blogger who is smart enough to take advantage of his time and skills, to hone it, to polish it, and to earn from it. For each suitable paid opportunity, the potential of making more money online is vast, a lot better than waiting for some clicked ads commission to reach payout amount.

These are the reasons why I signed up for PayPerPost and decided to become a Postie. What I’m gonna do with the earned money? I can buy more burgers for the hungry kids on the street.

I have the same thoughts like you do, too and considering about it now.

I guess, as long as they let me say what i want, and not just the good things about the product/service, then I’ll go ahead with it.

Good luck, don’t worry, we’ll still love u hehe :)

Is this better than Smorty? Are there codes that you need to install on blog?

I just found out that Google penalizes you for sponsored posts, especially from PPP. They find the PPP code on your page and destroy your PR. I didn’t know if you knew, so I thought I’d share that with you. I was a PPP member too until I found that out. I learned this through the forum at EC. Hope this news doesn’t bum you out, but I thought it was important.

If a postie has a PR2 or less, he/she has fewer opportunities. It is so unlike with those who have PR4 or higher. Also, location matters. If you’re outside north America, you also don’t get plenty of opps too.

@Michael, that’s so touching. Hehe. I know it’s hard to be a postie when your priority is getting ranked well with Google.

@Padawan - some codes have to be installed on our blog, and Mikey was just honest in his comment regarding how Google go after sites with paid posts. I have chosen to venture to paid posts (but not too much of them), perhaps Google could show some compassion. LOL

@Manilenya, if you really wanted your .net site to accept paid posting, I don’t think you’ll gonna have a problem. Once you submit it, there’s no doubt it gets rejected.

@Ceblogger, yep, you’re right. That’s why it will also be okay since that means you’ll gonna have limited paid posts on your site.

I see paid posting as a way for me to get some topics that I can work on, and help me in honing my skills in writing. That is my main objective right now, since, I have to admit, I have a lot to do to improve the way I write and the way I convey my thoughts on my blog.

Thanks guys for commenting and for caring. Truly appreciated. :-)

Penalized? Google will have something to say about that, but if you don’t care much about PR, then it doesn’t really matter. Go, blog some more! :)
