Congratulations, Manny Pacquiao

Pacquiao vs Diaz Fight ResultsIt was almost a no contest. The fight result proved to be almost a one-sided affair in favor of Pacquiao. And Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao goes into the history books as the only Asian and the first Filipino to hold Boxing Championship title in 4 weight divisions. His win against David “the Dangerous” Diaz earned him the World Boxing Council Lightweight Division Champion of the World.

Diaz suffered two cuts early in rounds 2 and 5 – a cut in the nose bridge on the 5th round, and another cut in the left eye in earlier round.

Round 7 saw some fighting from David Diaz, but those were not enough to hurt the southpaw from General Santos City, the Philippines.

The fight ended 36 seconds going to the end of Round 9. With his win, will Manny make good of his promise to help the victims of Typhoon Frank in the Philippines? Filipinos always expect people like Manny to help and share their fortunes to less fortunate Filipinos.

Should Filipinos rely on Manny Pacquiao for help? Anyways, the whole country is celebrating for Pacquiao’s latest win – and surely, this will be a national celebration.

  12. Diaz had under-estimated Pacquiao in a lot of ways. Somehow, IMHO, it seems that Diaz was sort of a braggart and he maybe have thought that just because Pacquiao was smaller of frame, height, and fist than he is, he can easily beat Pacman. Although, I believe, his loss from Pacquiao was a humbling experience for him. Top Rack boss said that he’d still let Diaz fight BUT Top Rank might look for somebody “slower” than Pacquiao, such a “pun” and humiliation from the boss himself. Tsk tsk tsk.

But Pacquaio, oh Gosh… I’ve found out that he really did his best to win because one of his reasons is to help the typhoon Frank victims here in the Philippines (and I guess the MV Princess of the Stars victims as well). I think he’s a BETTER HERO than Jose Rizal, yknow. (see my recent post “Madugong Ilong”).

Congrats to Manny, you’re such a good man!

  13. The strategy of Diaz backfired- which is to frustrate Manny and make him tired and knock him up at the finals rounds. Manny was simply too quick for him. I don’t know how he felt when Bob Arum told reporters that next time, they’ll gonna get somebody slower to fight against Diaz. LOL
