Bloggista.com is moving to a faster webhost so expect some weird stuffs going on around here, maybe some period of “nothingness” and “emptiness” for a couple of days. I have been reading lots of tips and articles on “How to Move Your Wordpress blog to a new host“. Hope it’s not as painful as Michael Jackson losing his skin pigments.
But I ain’t putting this blog site on “lockdown”, so feel free to leave your comments, rants, love messages and, o yeah, donations. LOL.
Thanks for your continued support by visiting this site even though at times its loading like forever. So there! See you on the other side!
If you want to know the latest posts, you can subscribe using your favorite RSS feed reader or get them delivered to your email inbox. Thanks!

Just got here and right now your blog loads up fast in my browser.
But I see that you got a lot of visitors just by seeing your Alexa ranking, so the move is truly needed.
Good luck making money too!

What’s your previous and new web host?
[Reply]
Ohh, @Ms. Janette and Ron - my previous host (till this very moment) is iPower. I have already a lot of sites hosted with my iPower hosting account - including a free blog site at Bloggista.net. So I need to isolate this blog. I got a good deal with Hostmonster .
@Ms.Elle - so keep holding your waist longer as I am still configuring my blog at the new host before I make the final transfer.

Hostmonster is also my choice for my upcoming blog. I’m hearing a lot of good reviews and rankings of Hostmonster.
May I ask what payment method you will use to purchase a hosting space? Credit card or PayPal?
I do have a PayPal account but it’s not activated yet since I have no credit card. What should I do in order to purchase a hosting space from a foreign web host? Any tips?
[Reply]
Hi Ron, yep, Hostmonster is good - based on the reviews. I also have a hosting with Bluehost, but Im using it with upcoming sites that also require lots of bandwidth. I used my PayPal account (verified) with Hostmonster. Very convenient way to pay. If you don’t have a credit card, try some other means to verify. My friend Gusher has a wonderful tip how to get verified without a credit card. Check him out.

Hostmonster and Bluehost is the same. I though you were with the Blue already. Don’t tell me you’re still with IPower? Heheh.
Just remember to disable all plug-ins first before downloading the SQL Files. Prepare for days of uploading specially if your ISP is slow.
Crossing my fingers with you.
[Reply]
@Bend, yup, hehe, they’re the same. That’s why I got a good deal for hostmonster. The bloggista.org and a new site that I will launch soon are hosted at bluehost. The new site needs to have good bandwidth and performance too so I just left them there. Soon if things are going okay, will consider buying a VPS or a dedicated server. Crossing my fingers. LOL - just imported the sql file to the new host - and seems everything is working fine.

Oooo, gotta love added speed. This is my first comment here, but I’m a big fan of your blog.
Just an FYI for your future webhosting needs, I’d recommend you steer clear of Ipower at all costs. I had a really bad experience with them where a lot of hardwork was almost lost (thank goodness for my own personal backup copies.)

VCC requires payment. I’m afraid to make transactions in the internet through credit card.
I guess I shall stick to a Filipino web host.
Any recommendation?

Hi Ron. Well, its always a smart choice not to use your credit card online - however, the simple rule there is to transact only with reputable companies. So far, got no problems with my credit card - perhaps Im lucky enough. LOL. But btw, you don’t need a credit card for VCC. You can pay using your unverified paypal account. If you want local hosting (though you get lower space and bandwidth) you may try http://www.philhosting.net - I heard they’re ok
[Reply]
Bloggista, so that means I can receive payments in my PayPal account even though it’s not verified?
I’m a member of several PTC (paid to click) programs and I’ve been holding my earnings for a long time now ’cause I thought I cannot receive those earnings until my PayPal is verified.
Thanks for this info. though. Now I know.
One last question. Is VCC legal?
I mean, is it established by a reputable company?
According to your friend Gusher,
“First, you must find / search for a PayPal VCC vendor online. It’s cost were ranging from $8 - $10 each. But, be sure to find some legitimate PayPal VCC seller online.”
In your case, what VCC vendor did you choose or the one you would recommend for me?
[Reply]
Will check on it Ron. But yep, you can actually receive money even if you’re not verified. You only need the verification if you want to purchase online. I think VCC is legal - bec paypal accepts it. But still, Gusher just made a warning not to trust anyone - make sure the VCC vendor is reputable also. You can verify it by looking at their paypal profile.
[Reply]
Thanks. Please ask Gusher what VCC vendor he would recommend.
