Cory Aquino: A Humble Poem Tribute
I ask forgiveness from the literary masters and specialists if this poem doesn’t follow any standard rule. Just my little and humble tribute to the greatest “moral” president the Philippines ever had.
Hopefully in May 2010, we find another Cory Aquino. We need moral renewal in our politics as much as we need prosperity and progress.
Thank you Madam Cory, and may you inspire politicians to follow your principles and humility.
CORY AQUINO:
Confetti all yellow your wondrous presence mark
On a dear country you inspired hope in the dark
Righteousness, prayerful, selflessness you have shown
You’ll be remembered for many generations
Amongst the heroes and saints in heaven, you are finally home!
Quietly as we laid you to your resting place
United as one people to you we promise
In our hearts and minds we all keep it and cherish
Never your gift of freedom will ever go to waste
Over and over we shall rise when democracy is at risk!

Pre,
Wow! You are not just good in singing, you can write a brilliant poem too! Ooops, did I say that you sing, I mean, because of your speaking voice and that trademark laugh of yours, I just assumed you sing well too (wink).
This is a category in it’s own. We can call it Acrostic-Bloggista.
DEFINITION of Acrostic-Bloggista
Each letter that starts a line can be read as a word or phrase (in this case, a name of a (famous) person). Composed of ten lines with a rhyming scheme aa-bbb-cddc-d. Lines 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 having the same number of syllables and lines 5 and 10 with the same number of syllables! Whew!
Of course, I am no authority in that, I just tried to wrap my mind in your awesome creation!

Wow Doc Z, you really are one literary wiz. Hehe. I should have just used iambic pentameter but it would just certainly expose my being noob at these things. LOL. Hmmm, perhaps I can try creating an acrostic for Bloggista.
