The Joys of Blogging
Blogging close to 5 months now, Bloggista.com has come a long way since the first post was published. It may not be as good as what the other Bloggers have achieved with their blogs, but I am contented with this blog’s Google Page Rank, as well as Technorati and Alexa ranks.
Contentment is the key. Of course it doesn’t mean you stop at improving things just because you are contented already. Learning, improvement – these things are continuous and you have to work for it.
Is your blogging giving you Happiness? Learnings? Contentment? Good Sleep? Fulfillment? Or is it giving you Stress? Frustrations? Wariness? Insomnia?
Is your blogging giving you Joy? Or just Disappointments?
Answers to these questions depend on your reasons, or motives, why you choose to blog.
Do you blog because you want to experiment things online? Do you blog because you want to express your thoughts and share it with others and you don’t care if other people read them or agree with you?
Do you blog to impress other people? Do you blog to see if you could make money with it? Do you blog because your friends are blogging too? Do you blog because it sounds cool being called a blogger?
Are you blogging it easy? Or blogging it seriously. I have learned that in most cases, serious blogging is all about either you want to make money, or establishing authority. I would say serious blogging is what makes blogging complicated. Serious blogging takes lots of hardwork. You work on consistent good contents, good looking blog, SEO and traffic and be ready to be criticized by other people. Serious blogging has its rewards. But you have to be ready to be frustrated and disappointed, and you need to put effort, time and hardwork to succeed, as Joliber spelled out in his post.

Blogging it easy, on the other hand, does not subject you to the things a “serious” blogger have to go through. You don’t need to spend so much time driving more traffic and in most cases, monetization is not your cup of tea. You may still establish authority on certain subjects, but essentially, blogging is not in any way affecting your personal life. You can go over a weekend escape at the beach or the the Ocean Park without thinking if anyone visits your blog, or if anyone left a comment, nasty or nice.
Successful bloggers have learned to blog it easy to be recognized as an authority and/or for the money – a goal that Bloggista.com wants to achieve. However you want it, the important goal is to be joyful in every thing that you do, that includes blogging. You celebrate each post you published, appreciate each comment you received. Every interaction with other bloggers and your readers each day is a learning experience.
Meeting and interacting with different people from different parts of the world is probably one of the most beautiful experiences blogging has brought to mankind. Each blogger have different traits, but in most cases, have same goals – to express your thoughts, to gain friends, to establish authority and/or make money.
Lastly, as I commented on Joliber’s post, Blogging comes with great responsibility. It has come to a point that “blogging became such a powerful medium that it can bring up or bring down people, personalities, businesses, countries, religion – even humanity. “
What “joys” has blogging brought you?

i began blogging in 2004 as a means for me to update my friends on what’s happening with my life. since we seldom see each other, each of our sites became a venue for us to communicate. i also go out a lot and people are constantly asking me on what’s a good resto, where to go for vacations, etc. so i thought of sharing my travels with people. blogging is also a venue for me to let my creative juices out in the open. it gives me a sense of pleasure and pride whenever i see comments on my entries and read good things about what i’m doing. i love it when friendships are formed online and most especially when you get to see your virtual friends in person.

I like kengkay’s reasons.
As for me, aside from the monetary side… blogging has brought me the joy of being able to help others through my writing. (naks!)
And of course, new friendships and business contacts.

great post pal, i love this quote of yours, “Blogging comes with great responsibility”, blogging was not that easy task. knowing that there are people who read and wait for your new blog posts. you also need to make your posts great for the avid readers of your blog. blog maintenance was not that easy. you need to make it look good to attract more visitors and readers, make some good content, and make it visible to major search engines.
but, with all of that, your blog was one of the best blog I’ve ever seen and hopped in, continue this great job of yours, more power to your blog. congratulations pal,

I started blogging to really improve my English. I admit i am not an expert on it. In the past few months, i feel i am learning and that’s an achievement for me. Whether small or big.
Now the only thing that keeps me going has broaden and more focused not only for myself, but to all the readers who patronized me from the beginning. I know it’s already a responsibility and that’s inspired to continue this chosen effort.
Thanks for the link love brother. Good luck to all of us!
Hi Bloggista,
Very insightful post. =) I am just new in blogging world, though I carefully weighed my reasons before giving it a try. I am working on a lot of things right now. So much to know, learn and do that I really find myself taking this blogging thing seriously. Monetary profit will come in as a bonus but for now, I realized that more than thinking and composing posts and taking care of everything else, meeting level-headed guys like you and the wpp folks made me thankful that I started blogging.

Blogging is really fun but to produce good content, you need to spend a lot of time.
Blogging makes me happy.. At some extent, it makes me feel challenged.. And i feel, my blog will help me achieve my goals (by connecting me to people, by engaging me to potential businesses, by building good relationship with fellow bloggers)..
Anyway, thanks for the mention..

Just like the other people here who commented. I blog because I desperately want to improve my English. As a newbie in this blogging world, I have had a hard time creating post (the really good topic) to be shown for the readers.
I think if you really want to be serious in blogging, more hardword and lot of time is needed in us. As you said, to be able to gain friends, establish authority and make money.
One thing that keeps bloggers from updating post is their hard time writing good blog content because nobody seems to read your post.
I start to love blogging now and hope I can be more serious.

Hi. Im new here. Hopped from Joliber’s page. Very insightful post.
I blog because it’s one of the things that makes me happy. Building good camaraderie and rapport in the blogosphere not to mention gaining extra income out of it makes it all extra special. When I blog everyday, I learn many new things and I think the frustrations and joys in blogging will serve more as a challenge… to be a better blogger.. to be a better person…

Great post and congrats on your success. Blogging as a whole is a joy for me. It gives me an outlet to be creative and express myself. It is a bonus when people like what I do and traffic increases.
As long as you do it for “the love of the game” as they say, blogging will never feel like a job or a chore.
Everything else is gravy.

I’ve been trying my hand at blogging for the longest time. I’ve been at it on and off for the last two years. I usually just end up deleting the whole thing. It is only recently though that I’ve really started getting serious with it (again!). My blog really is more for venting and sounding out my ideas. I do get a lot of high when people comment and say that I do make sense.
