Google Adsense recently announce two “minor” updates regarding its payout via Western Union. Whoooaaaat??? Google Adsense pays through Western Union? LOL! Of course, and every Google Adsense Publisher knows.
How to Change Google Adsense Payout to Western Union Quick Cash?
In case you don’t know, simply go to your Adsense “My Account” tab, and click on “Payment Details – edit“. Choose “Western Union Quick Cash” option and click “Continue” and wait for your next Google Adsense payout through Western Union. Google usually processes payouts starting at the 22nd to the 30th of every month – provided that your previous month’s earnings reaches USD100.00 or more.
The advantage of getting your payments via Western Union is that it’s free (however recently, Western Union is charging Php1.50 for every Php1,000 you get and they said it goes to the Government). And instantly you can claim your earnings in hundreds of Western Union branches all over the Philippines. Just make sure you get your MTCN number, and for added convenience, print the Google Adsense Statement of Earnings.
Now back to the minor Western Union payment updates. As announced, Google just made two:
First, Extension from 35 days to 60 days for you to claim your Earnings. If you are too busy claiming your Google earnings, either you can give me an authorization to claim it for you, and I will charge only 10% service fee (LOL), or you schedule a few hours from date of issue up to the 60th day to drop by any Western Union accredited partners to get your moolahs. If you’re still not able to claim those earnings within 60 days, Google will credit the account to my bank account (haha!). Kidding aside, Google will credit the payment back to your account and will place a HOLD to your account before you can be get paid again.
Second, Split Payments.
If your earnings is bigger than the payout limit in your country, Google Adsense now breaks the payments into smaller amounts so that you can still be paid of your current month;s earnings. Before, Google delivers your earnigns automatically via secured express delivery check – which will cost you some money. Here’s a snippet of the announcement sent by Google:
… if your payment exceeds the maximum payment amount, we’ll divide up the amounts but
still send them via Western Union. For instance, if the payout limit in your country is $3,000 USD and your payment for the month is $5,000 USD, we’ll send you two payments: one for the limit of $3,000 USD and another for the remainder of $2,000 USD. If you’re sent multiple Western Union payments, you’ll see multiple ‘Payment issued’ lines on your Payment history page, each with the corresponding MTCN associated with it. Depending on your local Western Union agent, you may need to pick up multiple payments on subsequent days.
In the Philippines, it’s not so clear whether there’s a payout limit, since several quick calls to a dozen of Western Union Partners gave me same answer – there is no payout limit, even if somebody sent you USD10,000.00 as long as you have the right information and ID, you can still get it. How true? If you know of a certain amount limit, feel free to leave your comment.

How many ID’s required to claim your Western Union money?
Just one (1) valid ID. Any of the following will do:
- Passport
- Driver’s license
- Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) ID
- National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance
- Postal ID
- Voter’s ID
- Government Service and Insurance System (GSIS) e-Card
- Social Security System (SSS) card
- Senior Citizen Card
- Administration (OWWA) ID
- OFW ID
- Seaman’s Book
- Alien Certification of Registration
- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)
- Firearm license
- Employment ID issued by an official authority
- Students who are beneficiaries of an OFW and who are not yet of voting age may additionally produce a photo-bearing school ID signed by the principal or head.
How much is the fee/charge to receive money in Western Union?
Basically, receiving money with Western Union is free, however recently, the Government requires that all remittances should be charged a Documentary Stamp Tax (DST) of Php0.30 for every Php200.00 principal increments or 0.15% of the principal amount to be received.

Hehehe – you’ll be surprised you’ll get yours soon. Reaching 100USD is a bit tough at first, but it’s surprisingly easy to get a hundred bucks or more every month once you’ve crossed that mark.

With regards sa WU payout, my adsense account is currently on migration from business to personal account. The problem with the business account is the inability to be paid through WU.. With buz account, the only way to pay you is through check. I contacted the support of mr g and someone is doing the migration for me. Hopefully, I will be able to receive my payments through WU next time around.

Hehe Angel, the 60 days is just an extension so you can claim your earnings up to 60days from the day payments was issued. But since you have updated your payment type to WU just last week, either Google will send you your earnings by check, or you can claim it next month na.
