Why Building a Website is Essential to a Passive Income Business
So you finally decided after some deep thoughts, that one of the best ways to achieve greater financial independence is to start your own Passive Income Business while you still have the luxury of time, strength and brains to spare.
During the first few days into your Passive Income business, you probably are busy learning the products and services, attend to some orientation meetings either online or offline, and is probably spending most of the time talking about it to your family and friends. You don’t start a business and keep it a secret right?
So how about telling everyone you’re doing it and invite interested people to join as well? You can try tapping all your family members, friends, relatives and co-workers, but most often than not, you’ll be frustrated and disappointed of the fact that only a few will be interested. It’s a reality that friends and relatives only start taking you seriously when they see you become successful in what you do.
So what are your options? You probably put your ads on local free ads paper, invest in some paid advertising on magazines, and community papers. Will you even consider buying radio and tv airtime? That will cost you a fortune, and sooner, you’ll end up frustrated, disappointed and broke.
You may consider joining and posting in forums, join hundreds of social networks and advertise your product – getting risked of being branded a spammer in most instances. Or you may want to consider building yourself your own website – be it on a free blog site like Blogger.com or Bloggista.net, or self-hosted website or blog using WordPress or Joomla or just a plain website.
Why building your own website is essential to your Passive Income Business? Here’s my 6 reasons why your Passive Income Business needs a website:
1. Introduce your business to the Global Marketplace
Having an online presence will expose your business to virtually anyone regardless of color, gender, location, time zones, preferences among other demographics. Even if you sleep, your business is “open” for every one who visits your site.
2. Its your Marketing Tool – online
Most passive income business programs have excellent brochures, videos and banners – you can place these in your website thus providing your visitors the right information when they visit your website. It is a cheaper alternative than printing these brochures, or distributing dvd’s to your prospects.
3. It presents a Professional Image
Offline Marketing activities with references to an online website give people the impression that you are serious in what you are doing. By posting links to your website in other online forums or related sites that allow posting of links rather than posting direct links to your affiliate or products, you put a personal touch to your marketing efforts. It helps you establish an online identity and possibly draw some followers.
4. Promote your passive income business products and services and track results
When you own the website, you can easily promote your products and services and at the same time, effectively track the performance of your marketing campaign efforts. Tools like Google Analytics and WP-Affiliate, a WordPress plugin which allows “masking” or hiding your affiliate links and tracks the number of clicks made provide the necessary statistics to monitor your progress.
5. Gather valuable information and generate new leads/recruits
You can gather information and potential leads to your passive income business by providing a way for your visitors to leave suggestions, feedbacks and comments on your website. Another great ways to capture information is to provide surveys, provide product samples, trial subscriptions and other marketing strategies to generate prospects/recruits.
6. Others are doing it
There is no business without a competition. If other people are doing it – deploying websites for their online or passive income businesses, you can’t afford to be the only person not doing it. While its true that one of the key factors in making your business successful is not conforming to what other people are doing – not building your own website isn’t one of those.
Every business needs a website, including your passive income business. Don’t be afraid in learning new things – even being a non-techie person shouldn’t be a hindrance to establish your online presence. Passive Income Business is all about helping others – that is why don’t hesitate to ask help from people who are into passive income activities.
Passive Income earners love to help other people earn passive income. Go to their websites, ask help on how to setup your own website or blog. They may even help you start for free. They are not competition – your only competitors are those people who may start ahead of you.

I think websites are definitely a pillar for passive income especially when a lot the articles fall into what we call in the blogging community as pillar articles.
guess that is why I created Marketing 411 which in the most part will become a pillar site for marketing.
and B i have you to thank for introducing me to passive income
The most advisable format of writing a blog according to experts is to atleast write 2 pillar articles after every 5 regular articles which is proving to be effective over at my side on empty streets too

That’s one thing I need to learn Metz. And I see how you’ve generated lots of traffic at Empty Streets – and I admire you for that.
Only shows the internet world offers vast opportunities to people who have the talents (I don’t have one but trying LOL), creativity and hardwork. So you really need to start your own website soon – with all your potentials, its no doubt we’ll see you at the top before we know it.
yeah, a web site or a web blog is certainly a great tool for passive income opportunities.. and of course kasama na rin pambobola at optimization..hahahahaha.. gaya ni kuya B, convincing lalo na sa chicks, ahhahahaha..peace..
Hehehe, Joliber, you’re the man. I could smell your fat wallet with adsense dollars from a distance.
on the perspective of business and marketing, a website provides wider reach to varied market group. it’s an icing on the cake to get some passive income on the sides.
So true – its like putting up a marketing campaign but generates revenue as well – rather than the traditional marketing approach which is all expense.
You got to hear me out. Might not as great as what others have written – but i could sense this one’s written from the heart, and from real or actual experience. Very commendable, and i love articles written to inspire people and not to impress. I have left you a note thru the contact form – looking forward to a fruitful partnership on this blog.
Thanks – already sent you a reply.
I definitely agree to this. One of my blogs deals more on my money making ventures – particularly on risking out with autosurfs and PTCs. Somehow I get referrals to sign up under me.
Thanks for sharing Gems. I guess education is the best approach towards real passive income generation – regardless of what program you’re joining as long as its for real. People are skeptics about these things and its best to show them which ones are real and which ones are scam by sharing actual experiences on these various programs.
B you really have made an impact on a lot of flips like me
anyhow its the weekend again and so hopefully you have an enjoyable one

I agree to this that’s why I moved from my old blog in blogspot to a more professional blog on wordpress. By the way, I am enrolling my site to ratified but they don’t even bother to reply to include my blog in their list.

LOL, I guess whether you’re in blogspot or wordpress, as long as you got great contents, its alright. But if you embark in doing business online, then probably having your own domain would help.
But I suggest for the beginners (like me), try it out with free blogging, then if you could sustain having your own domain, then I consider it as “expansion”. Hehe.
Or if you want to try a Free WordPress blog where you can monetize and put ads (unlike wordpres.com), I got another site at http://www.bloggista.net, its a free wordpress hosting site.
Btw, what happened to your ratified.org application? I guess I was lucky enough they approve my blog – but you got better contents so they should consider it the soonest.

I agree that having a website is crucial in today’s business. Whether you have an on-line (web-based) business or you have a traditional business like real estate — you still need a web site. Good posts by the way. =)
Passive income is so nice to hear… but so difficult to get.. or maybe i just need much help.
Awesome tips! Most people are scared to build a site, but it’s really not all that hard.
I have just started promoting my site. With out much luck initially. Decided to try article marketing, but don’t really know what to say. Any advice appreciated.
Thanks Bing
I suppose it is difficult to all of us who are visiting this blog to imagine a business not having a website.
AS we watch many offline businesses going under in todays difficult economy, we here who have our websites can still market with our websites keeping our costs to a minimum.
A well built website using all the latest techniques and triggers can expand a customer base and maximize sales without all the expenses as you so rightly mention.
how to make the passive income profitable ? or running/producing ?
any tips for this ??
These are great tips for newbies online and it does take a lot of hard work to get started especially if you want your passive income to eventually become your income. What is great about the internet and building your own website is that there is no overhead if you use the free blogsites and are just getting started. Unlike an offline business which has rent, mortgage, a sign for your store and everything in it. There are so many possibilities and so much to learn. Good luck to everyone!
