You’re might be the cutest girl in town, but using your “cutie” email address in your Resume and Job Application form might be a potential turn-off by many Job Hunters. It is alright if you are using “prettylicious@youremail.com” in your Facebook or mySpace profile, but never in your resume.

You have crafted the best resume ever - with all the right fonts and margin and an impressive work experience, but your email address reads “street_hunk125@yohoo.com”, it could be a potential disaster. Although there is no “written rule” about proper email addresses in resume’s/CV’s, but common sense tell it is always safe and more professional to use a professional sounding email address, perhaps using your name is always the best.

But for common names, you might really have a hard time getting the right email address. If your name is John Doe, for example, chances are, somebody already got that email name in the popular free online email service providers like Yahoo, Google and Hotmail. So it might be alright to use johndoe78@yahoo.com but avoid using johndoe69@hotmail.com.

Need A Job? Write A Good Resume

Resume Writing TipsFollowing the Cashflow Quadrant, most of us are in the upper left corner - Employed. This is the easiest way to earn money - though, the least way to make more money. However, getting employment these days also proved to be challenging. Finishing a college degree these days doesn’t guarantee employment - more and more graduates (especially in the Philippines) end up unemployed each year.

With so many people looking for work as against available suitable jobs - one has to excel in all aspects of job-hunting requirements, and that include a good knowledge on how to write a good resume.

So, if you are looking for a job - make sure you write a good resume. Here are some Tips in Writing a Good Resume.

1. Understand what is a “resume”.

A Resume is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best possible light, for the purpose of getting invited to a job interview. It’s not an official personnel document. It’s not a job application. It’s not a “career obituary”! And it’s not a confessional.

2. What should the resume content be about?

It’s not just about past jobs! It’s about YOU, and how you performed and what you accomplished in those past jobs - especially those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. A good resume predicts how you might perform in that desired future job.

3. What’s the fastest way to improve a resume?

Remove everything that starts with “responsibilities included” and replace it with on-the-job accomplishments.

It is job hunting season for most new Filipino college graduates. And with so many graduates as against available jobs (most notably, matched jobs), it is quite tough competition out there.

Job interviewA job interview, apart from crafting a good-looking resume, is probably one of the most difficult challenges a job seeker faces during the job application process, regardless whether one is a fresh graduate or a job ‘hopper’ for sometime. I must admit that I do enjoy this part, but there’s no secret formula than just being yourself (don’t pretend to be someone else, worse an expert) and just great amount of self-confidence. With some mix of humility and straightforwardness, you are ready to face any job interview challenge, even the much dreaded panel interviews.

Buzz or Not?I got a dozen of draft posts - but after a day from my HongKong travel, I am still in vacation mode and still don’t have the energy to publish some new posts. I received about 200 emails from friends and associates as well as from other fellow bloggers so half a day was easily lost to reading those.

And there I was looking at my blog for a while, wondering how I could improve its layout. Yeah, I know I need to get a professionally designed, exclusive Bloggista.com theme and start writing great contents - the latter’s sort of easier said than done. Then my eyes were fixed on BlogRush widget which has been occupying that spot for a while. Honestly, I don’t know much if this widget helped me in generating those precious traffic to my blog. Statistics data from BlogRush site don’t give me so much encouragements at all. For over a 1000 syndication of one post, only 3 clicks were made.
