FreestyleI have been a Levelup fan ever since they started. Used to play Ragnarok in its earlier releases, as well as OzWorld, a cool online living game, where you get to meet and socialize other players, make a living, start an online romance among other hosts of features.

But the release of Freestyle Online finally got me hooked to online gaming, way before Perfect World was a fad (sad to say, Perfect World is dying - according to the other online players I used to play with). Freestyle is an online Street Basketball game. If you love basketball, then you will surely love Freestyle.

FreeStyle In-game experience

2006_12_31_13_46_0406Freestyle is a “cartoonish”, or 2D-style street basketball MMORPG, or short for Massively Multi-player Online Role-Playing Game. It simply means you are playing with (cooperative) or against thousands of other Players online. As with the real Street basketball games, you can taunt your opponent, show your skills and slam those points. Read the rest of this entry »

The Pentium-5 hubbub

No, its not about Intel’s new processor chip release. I usually use Pentium-5 performance in my Consulting job - everytime I speak to my clients about speed, reliable, real-time data processing.

But Pentium-5, in my Consulting jargon, is exactly the opposite of what a system with a Pentium-5 processor in it - if ever Intel is going to produce one someday, (maybe in 2010?). It is an upgrade of Pentium-Poor. It’s all about sluggishness, slow, shamefully slow performance, outrageously slow speed - in other words, just !@$#%2%$!!!#$@#$ SLOW!

Yeah, this site has been running very slowly several days now, extremely Pentium-5 performance! Yeah, that is, you click on my site, and it takes 5 minutes before it shows up! What a bummer. Well, Bendz, in his usual playful self - thanks God he’s back to his playful self, did made a very inspiring comment, yeah, I mean it, very inspiring as I am now seriously considering changing to a better hosting service.

My Web Hosting, sent me an email:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Support.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

I have checked your Web sites http://aaaaa, http://bbbbbb and http://bloggista.com and noticed that it is loading slowly. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Currently, we are in a process of upgrading the MySQL servers to higher version. Hence, the customers are experiencing slowness while accessing the database. We do not have the exact time frame for resolution but we are expecting this to be done soon.

If you have any further questions, you can e-mail us seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Sincerely,

Customer Support

Too bad. I don’t know when they will gonna complete all these upgrades. I have noticed the sluggish performance several times over a 2-month period while they’re doing all those system upgrades. And I think it’s now time to seriously consider transferring to a better hosting service. I mean business, and I mean reliable, fast and simply better hosting.

Hey guys, if you have some suggestions on better web hosting provider, please leave your comments (with some discount coupons, even better, hehe).

Though I have to be assured of these two things:

  • No downtime when transferring to the new web hosting provider
  • Easy transfer of my blog and sites and databases ( I am not a techie, so this one’s kinda tough for me).

It was frustrating for sometime since I started blogging last January. I just can’t embed some HTML codes and any javascript code in my WordPress blog. Somehow, the codes get distorted whenever I click on Publish button.

When Bloggista.com started accepting free blog hosting, the only valuable plugin I installed to allow embedding videos is the YouTube plugin from Gecko. It was cool, and one of Bloggista.com’s valued blogger, Mosaico, has been using the plugin with ease.

But Mosaico, who seemed to have been cookin’ some real nice blog, wanted to embed more videos aside from YouTube. Fortunately, I came across this very simple plugin - EmbedIt. It allows embedding of HTML and any javascript code on the fly, utilizing the built in Custom Code in WordPress.

To make it work, just the follow these simple steps:

Recently, newbie Bloggista learns something from blogging (aside from creating great contents - an every bloggista dream):

QuestionNewbie bloggers should not - ever leave a comment on a pro blogger’s blog if not invited.

Answer Lesson learned: You will definitely be ridiculed by that pro blogger. Your supposedly good-intentioned, no-malice comments will become a pro blogger’s hit for the day. And you will be thrown like free snack to the pro blogger’s swarm of readers and commentators.

Answer Another lesson learned: Not all bloggers take free snacks.

QuestionNewbie bloggers should not leave a url link on a pro blogger’s blog - even on a chatbox.

Answer Lesson learned: Only the pro blogger has the right to put links on his/her blog. If you do so, then you are a spammer. You get to ride on the pro blogger’s popularity and ranking - which is, according to the pro blogger, is rude…unethical…

Answer Another lesson learned:  Its stupid to leave your url link on somebody else’s (especially on a pro blogger’s)  blog when your blog has a higher page rank anyway - stupid noob!. Don’t ever leave your url link again - blogRebel… stupid noob!

QuestionDon’t mess up with the passionate bloggers - who’s not going for the money anyway.

Newbie bloggers should not be stupid enough to praise a pro blogger, else he’ll be accused of accusing the passionate, talented pro blogger of being just after the money - of just getting paid of the things that pro blogger loves to do.

Answer Lesson learned: Passionate, talented pro bloggers don’t do it for the money. They think it’s a shitty bull shit of taking advantage of their thousands of loyal readers by putting crap ads  and product promotion shits on their blogs. Which will make you wonder how could a newbie blogger accuse a pro blogger of such…

Answer Another lesson learned: Just avoid praising and commending pro-bloggers, even if you are just simply appreciating the pro blogger’s blogging prowess. No matter how pure your intention is - you are just a newbie, and one stupid noob at that.

So don’t talk shit - noobs.
