The Busby SEO Challenge competition was a great way to discover and learn Search Engine Optimization for every newbie SEO enthusiasts like Bloggista.com, a Busby SEO Challenge participant to the hotly contested Busby SEO Challenge competition organized by Busby Web Solutions, an SEO Company based in Australia.

Many Filipinos joined the Busby SEO Challenge which ran for about 3 months. The goal - rank first in Google Top Page when the key phrase Busby SEO Challenge is searched. Teams from Indonesia ranked solid in first place, a day before the Busby SEO Challenge officially close.

Finish Time: 31 August 2008 (12:00 midday, Perth, WA)

The top winner wins USD5,000.00 while the second and third runner-ups get USD2,000.00 and USD500.00 each respectively. Check back this post as I will be posting the winners and top 10 best performers once the results are out.

Busby SEO Challenge winners:

  1. Imfreakz
  2. Sphereteam
  3. Pogung177

One big lesson learned from this competition was Teamwork. Others resort to obtaining thousands of backlinks by all means - some I personally doesn’t want to do at all - which borders to SPAMMING just to get backlinks.

Anyways, a big congratulations to the winners and to all the participants of the busby seo challenge contest. Hopefully next year, Busby Web Solutions will again run this event so we can participate.

(Photo Credits: Ezra Shaw/Getty Images) Recently, most of my blogging friends enjoyed one hell of ride with traffic and revenue with their SEO tactics and efforts on the 2008 Olympics Results and Games Updates. Due to so many things to do at my new office, I have only a few minutes browsing to the stats and some blog posts and had not much time doing my own optimisation. But still Google and Yahoo did brought in some favorable traffic on Olympics and I am very happy with that already.

However, there are some Olympics events I couldn’t afford to miss watching - and today I was lucky enough to be just at home and was glued to the TV Coverage on RPN-9 / CS Sports channel on the two events I was hoping I could catch on.

First I learned that the US Women’s Basketball Team won their Read the rest of this entry »

The Latest Buzz on Bloggista

To start with, the Best Definition of Bloggista Contest kicks-off this week, with USD100.00 prize for the Winner (may still increase as we are adding generous sponsors for the contest). So join the fun, and give your best ‘Bloggista’ definition.

As you may have noticed, there weren’t much updates to this blog in the last two weeks, first, because upgrading and transferring to a new host proved to be a challenge for the newbie Bloggista. The new host still got some glitches, and the biggest one is the inability to display the subdomain Bloggista.com blogs which include the TeamNoobs entry to the Busby SEO Challenge. Hopefully by this week, this should be resolved.

Secondly, Bloggista was down with FLU last week - and the best way to recover was to sleep and rest the whole time. The flu became worse during the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008 presentation of winners and eyeball - where I was already shaking and felt the chills getting more intense halfway of the event. For the rest of the week, it was a combo of very high fever with chilling, dry cough that shook even my brains, running nose and backpains, muscle pains - there was pain all over my head and body, even in my bones. I rarely get sick - but when I do, it’s like ten times over. Whew.

So the flu made me missed lots of opportunities last week - I missed the IMMAP Event where I won a Free Delegate Pass (worth over USS300.00), I missed optimizing for the 2008 Olympics Results, Updates and Sports Events, including the Olympics Medal Standings. My friends, however, made it to the SERP’s and I am so proud of them! I also noticed that Google AdSense earnings of the Olympics-related clicks are relatively higher. I even saw an earning of US$8.80 for just 10 clicks on one of my sites. Amazing!
