Some of you might notice a “shakeup” in Alexa’s rank figures lately. After the last major Alexa Rank update, I went from 195,973 to 179,560 since two weeks ago. Yesterday, my Alexa Toolbar and Alexa Rank Widget both gave a bit disappointing numbers - 189,144, a slide of almost 10,000.
But it was something I already expected as traffic to my blog were not as good as last month - perhaps partly because I have only written 2 or 3 posts per week for the last 3 weeks now.
But today, my Alexa Toolbar is displaying a different number as against the Alexa Rank widget. My Alexa Rank today went back to 179,560. The Alexa Site also displays the same rank but my Widget still displays 189,144.
What does this means? Is Alexa going to make another wave of major update soon? Are they going to introduce new changes to their ranking algorithm? Or this ‘erratic” and seemingly conflicting numbers between the Alexa Toolbar and the Alexa Rank Widget normal?

This post is inspired by Karlonia, truly one of my most admired bloggers (that I stumbled upon through Entrecard). I have learned a
lot from him. It was through Karl that I learned about search engine optimization and some of its basic techniques. At first I thought he was a she, but a quick google search reveals this information about this great blogger: “My name is Karl Erfurt, administrator of Karlonia.com, the world’s first (and only, as far as I know) Libertarian Internet Marketing Blog.”
Karl runs a post every Sunday that he calls Sunday Search Queries. It is an SEO post technique discussing about the popular search queries that ultimately landed on his blog. So much about Karlonia.com this time, I promised to myself I am going to make a review of his blog soon.

It’s all over the news - and almost everywhere. The announcement of the new Alexa Ranking system is probably one of the hottest news in the whole of blogosphere. And it did rocked the boat and created a loud noise.
It created what is aptly called an “Alexa boom and bang!” effect. Why? For the obvious reasons that most blogs’ Alexa ranks were affected, mostly bringing down the rankings of these sites.

The smaller your rank number, the better is your site in terms of reach and hits. Alexa popularity is now a standard in getting the most favorable advertising rates from prospect advertisers. The higher is your Alexa rank, the higher the Read the rest of this entry »

I got a dozen of draft posts - but after a day from my HongKong travel, I am still in vacation mode and still don’t have the energy to publish some new posts. I received about 200 emails from friends and associates as well as from other fellow bloggers so half a day was easily lost to reading those.
And there I was looking at my blog for a while, wondering how I could improve its layout. Yeah, I know I need to get a professionally designed, exclusive Bloggista.com theme and start writing great contents - the latter’s sort of easier said than done. Then my eyes were fixed on BlogRush widget which has been occupying that spot for a while. Honestly, I don’t know much if this widget helped me in generating those precious traffic to my blog. Statistics data from BlogRush site don’t give me so much encouragements at all. For over a 1000 syndication of one post, only 3 clicks were made.

I have read the post over at Marghil’s blog regarding the top keyword that placed most Pinoy bloggers on top of Google’s list. And not surprisingly, its all about pornography. The keyword, Pinay Scandal topped the list on that category, and many blogs were listed higher in Google because of this. And what are those most blogs all about? Gladly, there is no actual Pinay Scandal photo, or any Pinay Scandal video on them. Its actually becoming a noble cause for most Pinoy bloggers to get rid of the search engines like Yahoo! and Google from the insulting and degrading pornographic contents and videos that directly associates the supposedly gentler and noble meaning of the word Pinay, or short term for Filipino women, from the word Filipina.
