Okay, I am furious. Fuming mad. Angry. Why? No, it has nothing to do with the current Philippine Senate Circus, or with the problems some local banks are facing with their investments with Lehman Brothers - since the Philippine Central Bank said local Banks are safe - but, no Sirs, nothing is safe these days.

So it’s like this. Okay, so you start a business, you go through the business plan process, and secure capitalization, process voluminous paper requirements with the SEC and other government agencies, you find an office space, buy furnitures, servers and laptops, and yeah, office phone with DSL internet connection.

So we’ve done all of them, got an office space in an office tower in Mandaluyong/Ortigas area, and one week before the official launch, applied a phone line with DSL with PLDT. Five weeks passed, still all we got were 3 volumes of yellow and white pages delivered 2 weeks ago - no phone line, couldn’t even print our business cards because we don’t have a telephone number yet, and no internet connection!

Got to be honest, the first time I heard about Ubuntu was sometime April of this year over at Archon-Digital’s blog when he made an article of his switch to Ubuntu. Even after reading his post, I still didn’t get the idea of what exactly Ubuntu is all about.

It was only two months later in June when I had a chat with an Indian Consultant of a popular Business Planning Software in one of my Semiconductor Clients that made me do some little online research - and then went back reading Archon’s article all over again and those were enough to make me an Ubuntu User wannabe. Still, I didn’t bothered to try it out since I don’t have a system that I can play with at that time. The desktop at home is always busy with the “other” users, and I cannot afford half a day downtime with my laptop.

Finally, last week, I had a date with Ubuntu, and with those very rare events of my life - I got tied up and committed to it. Since I was launching my new business - it was necessary to buy some office equipments. I managed to buy 3 laptops - an Acer and 2 Lenovos (I’m adding two more Lenovos this week). Also, my friend Zymo helped me build my PC Server - an 8GB workhorse with two 700GB hard drives (for RAID setup) with a Quad Core processor. I was happy with the Server Cost as I only paid Php48,500 (a little over USD1,000.00) complete with a 19″ Acer LCD Monitor, and a UPS plus other freebies.

Diablo 3 Has Finally Come

Diablo 3 ImageWhat does a make money blog has to do with Diablo? Hahaha. Well, making money do most often are associated with the Devil - and it is scary to note that the easiest way to make money in this world is doing business with the Devil - sex, drugs, scams, human trafficking, among others, and gambling - hmmm, probably the last one needs some debate, but this post is not about those stuff mentioned, it is about a different evil. Its a new game that will surely bring more money to many internet gaming cafes and video game stores.

Yes, its Diablo, considered perhaps the most popular game of all time. It has been sometime since Blizzard Entertainment came up with the Diablo game genre. This is the same gaming company that brought us Starcraft and my all-time favorite Warcraft series.

Why this one will surely rock and generate lots of money for internet gaming operators and video game stores? Because Diablo 3 will surely a hit not just to new and younger generation gamers, but also to older but die hard gamers - gamers with money to spend who were entertained and hooked to the older releases of Diablo games.

Ohhh, Bloggista has been away for a few days lately. Just want to share some nice stuff from my favorite online game, Freestyle Basketball.

These new skills have been there for quite some time, but since I have been busy blogging (LOL), I just learned them lately.

Also, I wonder when will Levelup make available the 5 on 5 game mode. That is, if they ever plan to roll out it in the Philippines.

Here’s a video on 5 on 5 game mode. Seems this one’s from Korea server. The resolution is not so good, however, I could still feel the intensity and the excitement of playing Read the rest of this entry »
