Scam Post Wins Most Votes on YearBlook for May

That was an easy $100.00. Ted of Yearblook.com sent me an email informing that my post on Clickbank Scam got the most votes for the month of May. Well, I won US$50.00 as a reward for that post, and another US$50.00 since I submitted that article myself on Yearblook.

Joys of Blogging, Too

Blogging close to six months now, I had the privilege of meeting bloggers from different walks of life, and I surely treasure these folks who are not just good online friends, but best offline buddies too. And this first-time Linky Lovin post is dedicated to these bloggers who are testaments that one of the greatest joys of blogging come from great friends you built online.

My partner-friend, Joliber, who taught me lots of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques is a rare gem. He is diligent, and has a heart of an eagle - soaring high with energy, passion and determination - a true Bloggista himself! His associates, Sonn, Gusher and Jan Alvin are great, nice and reliable buddies too! These guys are now working with me on several projects that we hope to launch very soon.

Movies, and the Brand New Dark Knight Movie Trailer

Wew! Bloggista is going nuts over movies lately. Been too excited to watch the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. There’s also the remake of the 1959 movie Journey to the Center of the Earth a Jules Verne classic. This one is the first full-feature 3D movie! Of course there’s the funny installment of the Madagascar and another sequel to the Mummy too. Hmmm, wondering when will they announce the making of The Avengers Movie as well as the Warcraft Movie.

The new Batman movie features characters that later will become the Batman’s foes (Batman played by Christian Bale). Aside from the Joker - Batman’s official nemesis (played by Heath Ledger - RIP), there’s also Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) who will eventually become the Two-Face. Others are Sal Maroni the Gangster (Eric Roberts), Gamble (Michael Jai White), and Dr. Jonathan Crane a.k.a. the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy).

Of course Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine) is still around as well as Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) who will eventually become the Mayor of Gotham and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) - the CEO of Wayne Enterprises. Other notable persons with cameos are Edison Chen (as a villain), U.S. Senator Patrick Leahy. Singaporean actor Ng Chin Han will also have a role in the movie.

Typhoon Frank Aftermath - Aklan Is Still On It’s Knees

While people are celebrating and enjoying the knock-out victory of Manny Pacquiao over David Diaz during Sunday’s brawl in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, there were souls needing much help and attention - unfortunately, they were not as lucky in getting attention, even from the media with regards to their situation.

“the sad and bad news.. water system might take a month.. before supply will flow again… people are literally… . dying of thirst…..“

a 5 liter water is now selling in kalibo for P350 … a tricycle ride is P150….. a kilo of rice is Php180!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

For more than a week now, Aklan and Iloilo including Capiz are the provinces which suffered the most hit by Typhoon Frank. Situation in Capiz lately have improved a bit, but it is still bad to worse in Aklan and Iloilo. While most media focus and attention is on the sinking of the biggest passenger ship in the country, the Princess of the Stars which killed an estimated 800 or more passengers and crews - children, babies, men, women, old and young, little attention was done to the provinces mentioned above.

I am devoting this post for a call to action among our more lucky countrymen, and fellow citizens of the world, and let everyone know the harrowing situation that is threatening the lives of our brothers and sisters in Aklan, Capiz and Iloilo. This information was relayed by a Kulasa (St. Scholastica alumna), a family friend currently living in Roxas City with her husband who is a Doctor-volunteer of this city. They have been living in Capiz for quite some time - giving up better living conditions in Manila to help the needy in this part of the Philippines.

They badly need our help, any help, from clothing, to food, to water containers, medicines and most importantly, safe drinking water. I also appeal to my fellow bloggers - if its not too much too ask, to blog about this little charity effort, or even just a link to this post.

I am including at the end of this post the communication between Eurica, and her former batchmates in St. Scholastica - so you would have a good understanding of the suffering of the people in her place before you give out any donation. For donations, please direct them to the following:

Diablo 3 Has Finally Come

What does a make money blog has to do with Diablo? Hahaha. Well, making money do most often are associated with the Devil - and it is scary to note that the easiest way to make money in this world is doing business with the Devil - sex, drugs, scams, human trafficking, among others, and gambling - hmmm, probably the last one needs some debate, but this post is not about those stuff mentioned, it is about a different evil. Its a new game that will surely bring more money to many ~~internet~~ gaming cafes and video game stores.

Yes, its Diablo, considered perhaps the most popular game of all time. It has been sometime since Blizzard Entertainment came up with the Diablo game genre. This is the same gaming company that brought us Starcraft and my all-time favorite Warcraft series.

Why this one will surely rock and generate lots of money for ~~internet~~ gaming operators and video game stores? Because Diablo 3 will surely a hit not just to new and younger generation gamers, but also to older but die hard gamers - gamers with money to spend who were entertained and hooked to the older releases of Diablo games.

Congratulations, Manny Pacquiao

It was almost a no contest. The fight result proved to be almost a one-sided affair in favor of Pacquiao. And Manny “the Pacman” Pacquiao goes into the history books as the only Asian and the first Filipino to hold Boxing Championship title in 4 weight divisions. His win against David “the Dangerous” Diaz earned him the World Boxing Council Lightweight Division Champion of the World.

Diaz suffered two cuts early in rounds 2 and 5 - a cut in the nose bridge on the 5th round, and another cut in the left eye in earlier round.

The day that many Filipinos and Mexican boxing fans have been waiting for has finally come. What will be the result? Check out the Round by Round fight results at the end of this post.

Odds are favoring Pacquiao over Diaz. A Pacquiao win will definitely put the Pacman in the history books – being the only Asian to hold Championship Titles in different boxing divisions. And of course a Pacquiao win over Diaz will forever seal the tag “Mexican Killer” on Manny.

Most analysts, including the Pacquiao camp are expecting a knock-out on the 5^th or 6^th rounds. And Manny Pacquiao should knock-out David Diaz in the early rounds. It will be to Diaz’s advantage if the round extends to more than 8. While Pacman is boasting of a stronger right punch and quickness over Diaz, the latter is known to be resilient and his previous wins were won in the last rounds of the fight.

A David Diaz win over the golden boy from General Santos City, Philippines is surely a celebration among the Mexicans – who saw their Great Champions like Barrera, Erik Morales and other Mexican boxers fell in the hands of the southpaw master. And also, this is a jackpot for all bettors in favor of David Diaz.

“How Much Salary Are You Expecting?” This is probably one of the toughest questions to answer when asked during a job interview or when filling up a job application form if you are applying for work. While each one of us probably have some idea on how much one should be earning for a particular job, answering this with convincing power and confidence is still probably a challenge - even for a seasoned professional.

Another questions are - with your current skills, trainings, certifications, degree and years of work experience and other factors:

“Are you receiving an industry standard salary package?”
“How much are your peers (of the same industry) receiving annually?”
“How can I compare my market value?“

Perhaps another relevant question to ask are - “How is my salary compared to the salaries of people in another industry?” “How much does an IT Consultant make annually on the average in the Philippines? In Singapore? In the United States? Australia?”

How Long Will You Live?

There is an interesting article on a leading money publication in their latest issue for June about Retirement. It discusses perhaps the most challenging question that one faces in retirement planning - estimating or guessing your lifespan. Although my age is still at its prime, but the article struck me big time.

It’s no joke - and I even asked myself, when will I plan to retire, and how long will I live to enjoy my retirement? Will I ever have something to make me enjoy my retirement? Unfortunately in the Philippines, retirement is something that the government bothers to not to mind at all. If you plan to retire well, then its up to the individual to prepare for it. Perhaps one of the best way to prepare for retirement is to run for a political post or be appointed in the Presidential Cabinet.

Some Statistics (or estimates):

Life expectancy in the U.S. - 78 years (at birth).
Life expectancy at your age? 20.8 years for a 60-year old man on the average.

Probabilities (based on a 60-year old man):

Hitting 90 years old - 19% (or 81% probably won’t make it to 90 years old).
If one reaches 95 years old, then 22% chance to getting to 100.

The Story of Pablo and Bruno

Everyone who’s into Passive Income business is probably familiar with the Story of the Pipeline, starring Pablo and Bruno. I too learned about this great and inspiring story when at one time, I got into an awesome group that are educating people about passive income earning and are really doing well with the business. There I saw lots people from all walks of life - even my previous ‘Bosses’ and colleagues. And it was during these times that my eyes were opened to the reality that there is really indeed a way to earn income “passively.”

Well this post is not about this group (however, if you are interested, I can introduce you to this “offline” program as well). This is about a story of two friends from a village that dreamt of making it big someday. This story made me realize what to do with my life from there on.
