The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID), a private, non-stock, non-profit business association pioneered by 11 leading automotive firms representing 20 world-class brands in the Philippines and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), is holding a Though Leadership Forum: Innovation Congress (iCON) on April 5-7, 2013 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
iCON is the 3rd Thought Leadership Forum organized by AVID and features “Filipinnovation: Action towards Viable Innovation for Development.”
It will highlight game-changing ideas on innovation in the Philippines.
AVID says this event aims to draw out innovative ideas from various renowned speakers like Maria Ressa, Josiah Go, Mr. Joey Concepcion and other “game-changers” in various fields, through engaging discussions on how innovation can catalyse growth and development and positive social change in the country.
It will also bring in Mr. Casey Hyun, the lead designer behind Hyundai’s fluidic design to deliver his “Innovation Speak.” iCON will also showcase Hyundai Concept Cars, gives everyone a preview of Hyundai vehicle technology and the logic behind its design philosophy.
Aside from the Forum, the 3-day event will also feature car displays from Hyundai, Volvo, Bentley, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Geely (China), MINI, Mercedes-Benz, Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Jaguar, Land Rover, Subaru, Chevrolet, Foton and other cars and vehicles distributed by AVID members.
It is interesting to note though, that this event coincides with the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) which will be held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on April 4-7, 2013.
One of the major exhibitors of the annual MIAS, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official Hyundai vehicle distributor in the Philippines is said to have pulled out from this year’s MIAS. HARI is a pioneer member of AVID.
